Jewellery care
Both our diamonds and our jewellery are crafted by master artisans. Much like snowflakes, no two diamonds are the same and there can also be ever so slight differences in the polishing of our jewellery. That is the beauty of the hand-made craftmanship that goes into each Delve piece. A few helpful Delve tips: At Delve we believe that diamond jewellery should be enjoyed often and not kept only for special occasions. It is very normal for the jewellery that you wear to show signs of usage over time, especially if it is worn daily. While diamonds may be the hardest known material on earth, 18k gold is not. Therefore, your jewellery will begin to write a chapter of its own with every scratch or impact that may occur. That said, the more you look after your jewellery, the longer it will bring you joy for years to come. Just because your Delve jewellery is made with precious materials and is of high quality, doesn’t mean it can be neglected. Like a designer bag, Delve jewellery will age best if it is well maintained and well loved.
To ensure the longevity and charm of your Delve jewellery, it's important to practice some simple habits:
Regular Cleaning: Clean your jewellery regularly with a soft brush or cloth and mild soapy water to remove dirt and oils that can accumulate over time. Avoid strong soaps and abrasives.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your diamond jewellery away from harsh chemicals such as chlorine, bleach, and other household cleaning products, as they can damage both the metal and the diamonds.
Storage: Store your jewellery in a fabric-lined jewellery box or in the soft Delve jewellery pouch to prevent scratching or tangling with other pieces. Avoid Impact: Diamonds are durable but can still chip or scratch if subjected to sharp impact. Be mindful to avoid banging or dropping your jewellery onto hard surfaces.
Regular Inspection: Using a magnified loupe, periodically inspect your jewellery for loose stones or any signs of damage. If you notice anything unusual, take it to a professional jeweller or to Delve for inspection and repair. Professional Cleaning and Maintenance: Consider taking your diamond jewellery to a professional and trustworthy jeweller for periodic cleaning and maintenance. They can inspect the settings, clean hard-to-reach areas, and ensure that the piece remains in excellent condition. At Delve, we suggest doing this once a year.
Assurance: Consider insuring your valuable diamond jewellery to protect against loss, theft, or damage beyond repair.
